I look forward to seeing them again at Maryland Deathfest, where just like in 2017, they\u2019ll be on the same bill with\u00a0Exhumed. This is the band\u2019s eight full-length album, one that showcases Fen\u2018s talent for creating haunting atmospheres without losing sight of the aggression and power that keeps the music exciting. Check out \u201cTectonic\u201d and you\u2019ll catch my drift right away.<\/p>\n Stream:\u00a0Apple Music<\/a><\/p>\n ELEMENTAL Part One: MOURNING EARTH by Fen<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014<\/p>\n Mastodon \u2013 Marrow Deep<\/p>\n A tribute and a triumph to all that was and what still can be.\u00a0Marrow Deep\u00a0is a heavy album in multiple ways, the first\u00a0Mastodon album without Brent Hinds, and one that examines and exorcises grief in all its forms. But even with its inspirations put aside,\u00a0Marrow Deep bears a fresh and heavy quality that recalls a force and fire that Mastodon hasn\u2019t quite summoned since the early days of\u00a0Remission and\u00a0Leviathan. But it\u2019s delivered in a way that maintains all the exploring and maturing the band has done since then \u2014 making it a truly essential addition to their legendary sonic canon. I remember the band\u2019s 2023 album totally ripping, and\u00a0Existence is Corruption shows no sign of creative or destructive decay.
