{"id":753579,"date":"2026-08-29T13:02:09","date_gmt":"2026-08-29T13:02:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/753579\/"},"modified":"2026-08-29T13:02:09","modified_gmt":"2026-08-29T13:02:09","slug":"met-office-issues-yellow-thunderstorm-warning-for-east-of-england","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/753579\/","title":{"rendered":"Met Office issues yellow thunderstorm warning for East of England"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms across parts of the East of England.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">It will be in place between 12:00 BST and 21:00 on Saturday in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Buckinghamshire.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;An area of heavy showers and thunderstorms will move across this region during the afternoon and early evening,&#8221; the Met Office said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">It also warned there would &#8220;probably&#8221; be damage to buildings and some flooding.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Some short-term loss of power and other services was likely, the forecaster added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Up to 30mm of rain is expected to fall across the region, with hail and lightning forecast as additional hazards.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Do you have a story suggestion?
