I am firmly of the opinion that FX\u2019s Adults <\/a>is one of the most underrated series on TV, and at least currently, the best comedy airing on streaming now that season 2 has arrived. Both critics and fans seem to agree to the point where Adults season 2 has set a deeply impressive Rotten Tomatoes review score<\/a> record. Not just for its genre, but for all shows in 2026.<\/p>\n As it stands, Adults season 2 has the highest combined critic and audience score<\/a> of any show in 2026: a 100% critic score and a 98% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. There aren\u2019t many audience reviews in, but those high rankings are similarly reflected on IMDB as well.<\/p>\n That combination puts it above the most high-profile series of the year, at least for now. Here\u2019s a list of combined scores making up the top series of 2026, with Adults at #1.<\/p>\n Adults season 2 \u2013 100% critic score + 98% audience score = 198Widow\u2019s Bay season 1 – 98% critic score + 92% audience score = 190Sugar season 2 \u2013 97% critic score + 93% audience score = 190Furious season 1 \u2013 98% critic score + 88% audience score = 186Star Wars: Maul \u2013 Shadow Lord season 12 \u2013 98% critic score + 93% audience score = 191Hacks season 5 \u2013 97% critic score + 89% audience score = 186The Pitt season 2 \u2013 99% critic score + 85% audience score = 184The Bear season 5 \u2013 96% critic score + 85% audience score = 181Ride or Die season 1 \u2013 96% critic score + 84% audience score = 180Margo\u2019s Got Money Troubles season 1 \u2013 96% critic score + 81% audience score = 177Lanterns season 1 \u2013 94% critic score + 82% audience score = 176A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms \u2013 95% critic score + 79% audience score = 173My Brilliant Career season 1 \u2013 100% critic score + 57% audience score = 157<\/p>\n I could go on, but you get the idea. Right now, Adults is on top. While it\u2019s still early, Adults would have to lose a full 8% to get to second place, tying Widow\u2019s Bay and (surprisingly) Sugar season 2. For Adults, this is a step up in both categories from season 1, where it had a 76% critic score and an 84% audience score. Now, it\u2019s heralded as one of the best comedies on TV, a classification that I would agree with.<\/p>\n Even if this list shifts a bit, it\u2019s clear that Adults is going to be one of the highest-scored projects of the year. You will also note that practically everything on this list has been confirmed to be getting another season, barring series that aired their series finales like The Bear and Hacks.<\/p>\n As I\u2019ve said many times, watch Adults.
