Birmingham City have made an ambitious move to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The Blues want the England international to join their push for promotion into the Premier League<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Oxlade-Chamberlain, 32, is currently at Besiktas but would be open to a return to English football. There has been interest from the Premier League with Besiktas likely to let him go if they can find the right deal.<\/p>\n

Former Arsenal<\/a> and Liverpool<\/a> midfielder Oxlade-Chamberlain has been back in full training with Besiktas, is in good shape and ready for the new season.<\/p>\n

It would be a new challenge to find another club at this stage of his career and Birmingham hope they can convince him because of the ownership and direction.<\/p>\n

Birmingham can boast a big pull with Tom Wagner as chairman and NFL<\/a> legend Tom Brady is a part owner of the St Andrews club.<\/p>\n

They have made a solid start to the Championship season and have got dreams of going straight up into the top flight after being promoted from League One.<\/p>\n

They have spending power and pulling power which they hope can convince Oxlade-Chamberlain who has 35 England caps and had an illustrious Premier League career with both Arsenal and Liverpool.<\/p>\n

Injuries have held him back in his career but he joined Besiktas two years ago and remains in Turkey despite false reports that he had left.<\/p>\n

He even posted pictures of himself back in training to prove he was still there. There is also certain to be interest in Oxlade-Chamberlain from Premier League clubs in this window as he is regarded as being a popular figure in the dressing room with leadership qualities.<\/p>\n

His partner, Little Mix<\/a> star Perrie Edwards, recently revealed she would be splitting her time between England and Turkey. They have been together for eight years and have a son.<\/p>\n
