After a lengthy wait, The Batman: Part II<\/a> is finally underway. The much-anticipated superhero sequel is now filming in Glasgow, Scotland, and eagle-eyed locals have been watching the production closely. This week, observers spotted a possible plot point as the crew filmed a chase scene involving Batman’s famous conveyance.<\/p>\n

The Batman: Part II will follow up on 2022’s The Batman<\/a>, and will show the continuing evolution of Robert Pattinson<\/a>‘s Bruce Wayne into Batman in the wake of the disastrous flooding that battered Gotham City in the last film’s climax. Also returning from the first film are James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright<\/a>), Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis<\/a>), the Penguin (Colin Farrell), and Mayor Bella Re\u00e1l (Jayme Lawson<\/a>); new cast members include Sebastian Stan<\/a>, Charles Dance, Brian Tyree Henry<\/a>, and Sebastian Koch. Allegedly not returning is Catwoman (Zo\u00eb Kravitz), who survived the events of the first film, and escaped to parts unknown.<\/p>\n

New set photos and videos from The Batman Part II appear to show Scarlett Johansson<\/a>‘s stunt double in the passenger seat of the Batmobile. While the Batmobile does traditionally have two seats, without a sidekick (as live-action Batman has been bereft of one since 1997’s Batman and Robin<\/a>), it’s usually vacant; however, it does occasionally house a passenger, like Vicki Vale (Kim Basinger) in 1989’s Batman<\/a>, and Rachel Dawes (Katie Holmes) in Batman Begins<\/a>. We still don’t know exactly who Johansson is playing in The Batman: Part II, but rumors suggest she may play Glinda Dent, the wife of doomed Gotham district attorney Harvey Dent.<\/p>\n
