To make the record attempt official, the cricketer had to run while holding a cricket ball and dressed in full cricket whites and play a subsequent game after the initial bowl.<\/p>\n
The official Guinness World Record was for the longest cricket bowling run-up as a male.<\/p>\n
While Bodoano fulfilled the requirements, a Guinness World Records spokesperson said that his application would need to undergo the formal evidence review and verification process.<\/p>\n
“That review can take about two weeks, depending on the evidence submitted, so at this stage we wouldn’t be able to officially recognise the achievement,” they said.<\/p>\n
The current holder of the record for the longest bowling run-up (male) is Tom Dunn, who ran 15 miles (24km) from Bethnal Green, in east London, to Wandsworth Common, in south London, in August 2024.<\/p>\n
