It\u2019s been rumoured for quite some time, but here\u2019s your first look at the official LEGO PS1 set, as spotted in-store by a Brick Tap News<\/a> member. It\u2019s due out on 1st October.<\/p>\n

The build consists of 1,911 pieces and will retail for a reasonable $160, which is pretty affordable for LEGO sets these days as far as I can see.<\/p>\n

As previously rumoured<\/a>, the set will also come with a free Astro Bot<\/a> while stocks last.<\/p>\n

In addition to the console and controller, you\u2019ll find a diorama beneath the lid-flap which pays homage to Ape Escape<\/a> and Gran Turismo<\/a> \u2013 two of the device\u2019s defining games.<\/p>\n

That means no physical discs in this set, folks \u2013 hurrhurr.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s hard to tell from the photograph, but it looks like the packaging references the PS1\u2019s original US box art, which is pretty cool.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve resisted the temptation to buy various LEGO sets of late, including that awesome Donkey Kong arcade cabinet<\/a> \u2013 but I fear I\u2019m going to cave here.<\/p>\n
