The problem was that Schrader feared he would be accused of \u201ccultural appropriation\u201d if he directed a film about three African-American brothers in an all-Black neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">Schrader\u2019s suggestion for resolving this problem? He would co-direct the film with a Black man. You can\u2019t make this up \u2026<\/p>\n<p data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">Now, speaking with <a class=\"UBFage\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/09\/paul-schrader-basics-of-philosophy-interview-venice-1237065393\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Deadline<\/a>, Schrader has an update when it comes to this ever-morphing project: Fuqua is no longer involved, and it\u2019s now an AI movie.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">Antoine is no longer involved. That was originally called Three Guns at Dawn. It has now become something different and is being reconfigured. It\u2019s now an AI project.<\/p>\n<p data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">Schrader doesn\u2019t give a flying thought to what others think. He is ready to explore AI in filmmaking, and he recently told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/hollywood\/story\/paul-schrader-ai-movie-interview\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Vanity Fair<\/a> that he had a \u201cperfect script to do all AI.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">I was just on the phone with someone today about a script I had, and I said, \u2018You know, this would be a perfect script to do all AI.\u2019<\/p>\n<p data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">He was most likely talking about \u201cThree Guns at Dawn,\u201d or whatever it\u2019s called now.<\/p>\n<p data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">Schrader has long been open to AI in filmmaking. He frequently posts AI-generated images of himself on Facebook and has admitted to using AI for script ideas. Did it come up with this new version of \u201cThree Guns at Dawn\u201d?
