\n Bar Coast and Harry\u2019s Lounge Bar, on Old Christchurch Road, has applied for a standard Temporary Event Notice (TEN) for a boxing event, set to take place on Saturday, October 17 from 2pm to 11.30pm.\n<\/p>\n
\n The venue\u2019s current licence does not cover boxing and wrestling entertainment, which is why they have applies for a special licence to allow the event to take place.\n<\/p>\n
\n Dorset Police has submitted an objection to the application due to the area\u2019s history of alcohol-linked crime and antisocial behaviour.\n<\/p>\n
\n The police said they feel the combination of boxing and alcohol sales could worsen anti-social behaviour and have an impact on\u00a0public safety, considering the nature of the event and potential disturbances when attendees leave.\n<\/p>\n
\n The police said that the management plan which states: \u201cAttendance at the event will be strictly capped at 499 persons or venue capacity,\u201d needs clarity as it includes all present, such as staff and security.\n<\/p>\n
\n A site layout plan showing the boxing ring\u2019s location has also been requested by the police.\n<\/p>\n
