The Beyhive\u2019s bank accounts are about to bee feeling the sting.<\/p>\n

Two decades after the release of her second album B\u2019Day,Beyonc\u00e9<\/a> dropped a limited-edition merchandise collection on her 45th birthday to celebrate the anniversary, including one unusual item that costs nearly $1000<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Indeed, alongside common merch items like T-shirts and hoodies, the Grammy winner’s surprise Sept. 4 drop included a wooden box with nothing inside on her official online store<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Yes, you read that right.<\/p>\n

According to Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s website, the \u201cBey Keeper Collector\u2019s Box\u201d\u2014of there are only an exclusive 500 for sale\u2014consists of an 18 x 14-inch empty light wooden crate with an attached pleather strap.<\/p>\n

And it doesn\u2019t come cheap. After all, the limited-edition boxes are being sold for $948.01, the specific cost undoubtedly referring to Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s birthday of Sept. 4, 1981.<\/p>\n

Despite the hefty price tag, the crate, dubbed an \u201cessential piece of art for the hive,” does have both a special meaning and an intended use. <\/p>\n

\u201cInspired by the beauty of traditional beekeeper crates,\u201d the description on the \u201cCrazy in Love\u201d singer\u2019s website reads, \u201cthis limited-edition collector\u2019s box is designed to house and display your Beyonc\u00e9 vinyl collection.\u201d<\/p>\n

Each crate\u2014which does not come with any vinyls\u2014is \u201chandcrafted from solid pine wood, finished with beeswax oil, lined in deep green velvet, and fitted with a faux gator-skin leather carrying strap with gold hardware,\u201d per the description.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the boxes feature \u201ccustom engraved details,\u201d including Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s name on one side and an engraved bee on top.<\/p>\n

Unsurprisingly, fans had many thoughts about the expensive collector\u2019s item. After the \u201cTexas Hold \u2018Em\u201d singer\u2014mom to daughter Blue Ivy, 14, and 9-year-old twins Rumi and Sir with husband Jay-Z\u2014debuted the crate on Instagram<\/a> with an ad-like video, social media users weighed in on its high price tag, sharing hilarious remarks in the comments section.<\/p>\n

As one user wrote, \u201cThat box better come with a hard drive that has the Formation Tour footage, Renaissance Film, Act I & II Visuals, Act III advance copy, and a digital rendering of her rebuilt knee joints.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, another Beyhive member pointed out that Beyonc\u00e9, according to a December report from Forbes<\/a>, recently achieved a financial milestone. <\/p>\n

\u201cBeyonceeeeee you\u2019re a billionaire, not us,\u201d the person wrote. \u201cHappy B\u2019Day though!\u201d<\/p>\n
