Billy Horschel will not be competing at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth this year.<\/p>\n

Horschel has won the BMW PGA Championship twice throughout his career, in 2021 and 2024.<\/p>\n

However, the American\u2019s poor form on the PGA Tour during the 2026 season means that he has to focus his attention elsewhere this fall.<\/p>\n

Billy Horschel<\/a> has always been a big supporter of the DP World Tour<\/a> throughout his career.<\/p>\n

However, Horschel will not be playing at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth this month for the first time since 2019.<\/p>\n

Horschel took to his official X account<\/a> to make a statement about missing the BMW PGA this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cHey everyone, Billy here. To all the supporters and fans at the DP World Tour and the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth,\u201c Horschel began.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately, due to my not-so-solid play on the PGA Tour this year, I\u2019m going to have to skip the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m devastated. I\u2019m upset. It\u2019s a decision that was really tough to make.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think everyone understands how much I love this event, how much I appreciate the support I\u2019ve received since 2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m truly proud and honored to call myself a two-time champion of this event, and I\u2019m gonna miss everyone over there this year. I\u2019m going to miss playing Wentworth. I\u2019m gonna miss seeing all the guys on DP World Tour. I\u2019m going to miss, you know, people saying, \u2018come on you irons\u2019 to me.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s something that I truly do love and I think everyone sees the smile I have on my face when I play there every year.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, I\u2019m wishing everyone a great event this year, and I look forward to seeing everyone in the years to come.<\/p>\n

Billy Horschel set to play the PGA Tour fall schedule<\/p>\n

Horschel will clearly be playing a full schedule on the PGA Tour throughout the fall in order to try and secure his card for the 2026 season.<\/p>\n

His form on the PGA Tour this year has been poor to say the least.<\/p>\n

Billy Horschel has played 24 PGA Tour events in 2026 and has missed 10 cuts.<\/p>\n

In the 14 events where he made the cut, Horschel, 39, has recorded just one top-10 finish, and that came at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans \u2013 a team event.<\/p>\n

He will be desperate to rediscover his very best form over the next few months.<\/p>\n

And Horschel clearly believed that playing the fall schedule on the PGA Tour rather than competing at the BMW PGA Championship gives him the best chance of doing just that.<\/p>\n
