\n Run by Dentaid The Dental Charity in partnership with NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight, the service is designed for those facing health inequalities, including people on low incomes, certain benefits, pregnant women and those experiencing homelessness.\n<\/p>\n

\n The unit travels to locations including Southampton, Portsmouth, the Isle of Wight, Andover, Bordon and Basingstoke, stopping at family hubs, community centres and places of worship.\n<\/p>\n
\n Andy Evans, chief executive of Dentaid The Dental Charity, said: “By helping to break down the barriers to dental care faced by many in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, we can help to create capacity elsewhere in the system.\n<\/p>\n
\n “We are hugely grateful to our hard-working team of clinicians and support staff, who are ensuring that people who were suffering long-term dental pain and social exclusion can now get the dental care and treatment they need.”\n<\/p>\n
\n The service offers free fillings, extractions, scale and polish, fluoride varnish and x-rays to eligible patients.\n<\/p>\n
\n More than 13,000 patients attended outreach services on Dentaid\u2019s mobile dental units last year.\n<\/p>\n
