Police have launched a murder probe following the death of a man in his 30s in south London<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Metropolitan Police<\/a> officers were called to an address in Poynders Road, Lambeth, SW4, at around 8.35pm on Friday after a report from the London Fire Brigade.<\/p>\n

The man was found with serious head injuries and, despite the efforts of emergency responders, was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

His next of kin has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers.<\/p>\n

Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell said, at this stage, police believe it to be an \u2018isolated incident\u2019 and \u2018there is no evidence to suggest any wider risk to the public\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018This is a tragic incident, and our thoughts are with the victim\u2019s family and loved ones as they come to terms with their loss.\u2019<\/p>\n

She added that the force is \u2018working hard to establish exactly what happened\u2019, with a team of detectives \u2018progressing a number of enquiries at pace\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018I would urge anyone who was in the area, or who may have seen or heard anything unusual, to come forward and speak to us.<\/p>\n

\u2018Even the smallest piece of information could prove vital in helping us understand the circumstances surrounding this man\u2019s death.\u2019<\/p>\n

No arrests have been made yet, but Poynders Road remains a crime scene.<\/p>\n

A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: \u2018The brigade was called to effect an entry to a property on Poynders Road, Lambeth.<\/p>\n

\u2018Upon gaining entry, firefighters discovered the body of a man in the property. Despite the efforts of firefighters and paramedics, he was declared dead at the scene.\u2019<\/p>\n
