Doctors have become “concerned” about the way Tracy Shaw is responding to her chemotherapy treatment.The actress, 52, who played Maxine Peacock on Coronation Street<\/a> from 1995 until 2003, announced earlier this year that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. <\/p>\n

On Saturday, the soap icon took to social media once more as she told fans she was hoping that her sixth round of chemotherapy<\/a> would take place in the coming days but whether it actually will or not remains to be seen because of the side effects she has been suffering.<\/p>\n

She said: “I have to be honest…it hasn’t been easy but I’ve surrendered to what I always think I know about my body<\/a>. There isn’t anything that doesn’t hurt, ache or isn’t covered in these shingles and after having five months of it, I’m really sick and tired of it and so is my body.<\/p>\n

“So there’s no big comeback because the body isn’t able to but I have faith that this too shall pass and on Monday, hopefully, I’ll see the surgeon so there’ll be a bit more of a plan because I can’t plan anything til I know when that will be. I’ll see the oncologist on Tuesday, chemo day is Wednesday. That’s chemo six…if it happens, because they are concerned about the effects…”<\/p>\n

But Tracy, who also enjoyed a brief pop career with a cover of the Lonnie Gordon track Happenin’ All Over Again and in more recent years has starred in a string of theatre productions, is determined to look at the situation optimistically and thanked her fans and followers for their ongoing support.<\/p>\n

She added: “So today I’m just grateful, I have got out today. Every day I do get out and I’m grateful for you, for everyone who has been on this journey before me, and for everyone’s love and support. You lose so much and you lose so many people because no one knows what to do around cancer.<\/p>\n

“As much as everyone wants to help, there aren’t many that can. That’s what I’ve learned. They say ‘Can I do this?’ and I say ‘That would be lovely.’ It’s not that I have to rely on myself, I have to rely on God to get through this because the flesh is done.<\/p>\n

“This wee body is done and every day I see something absolutely amazing in nature which gives me the faith because that’s what is here for me to see. “<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, Tracy told her social media followers: “Phew round 4 hit hard! I\u2019ve chose to show the moments of Joy I experience, hoping they bring light to those in the same position. Amidst this pain and suffering, I\u2019ve had to dig deep into the constant spiritual growth , to creation and its wonders.<\/p>\n

“Knowing what\u2019s coming each cycle doesn\u2019t make it easier, but I\u2019m not panicking, definitely trusting the process , honestly it\u2019s agony , but keeping it in the day. Praying a lot for others. Grateful to have met others to share this journey with, life sisters.”<\/p>\n
