Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight is currently writing the script, and Dune’s Denis Villeneuve will direct. They and the team may well already have a title in mind. Or, of course, they may just be calling it Bond 26 for now.

Most of the series have taken titles from the original Ian Fleming stories. Four of those remain unused – The Hildebrand Rarity, Risico, 007 in New York, and The Property of a Lady. Although elements from those stories have already been used in previous Bond films.

Fans have also been busy putting forward their own suggestions for potential titles. Since the accession of King Charles III in 2022, those suggestions have included On His Majesty’s Secret Service, and King & Country.

As for a release date, it’s been widely reported that the next film is likely to be released in 2028. That means it’s almost certain that this will be the biggest ever gap between films, more than the six years and four months between 1989’s Licence To Kill and 1995’s GoldenEye.

We don’t yet know what it will be called, or have a confirmed release date.
