{"id":763038,"date":"2026-09-07T16:36:13","date_gmt":"2026-09-07T16:36:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/763038\/"},"modified":"2026-09-07T16:36:13","modified_gmt":"2026-09-07T16:36:13","slug":"indoor-golf-club-and-spa-planned-near-southampton-airport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/763038\/","title":{"rendered":"Indoor golf club and spa planned near Southampton Airport"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  The proposals have been lodged with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailyecho.co.uk\/news\/district\/eastleigh\/?ref=au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Eastleigh<\/a> Borough Council for Unit H on George Curl Way, close to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyecho.co.uk\/topics\/southampton-airport\/?ref=au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Southampton Airport<\/a> and junction five of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyecho.co.uk\/topics\/m27\/?ref=au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">M27<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The scheme, from Parclub Holdings Ltd, would see part of the existing Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance building converted into a venue called the PAR Club.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  It would boast indoor golf bays, a putting area, a retail store, bar and restaurant, plus a kitchen and members\u2019 lounge on the ground floor.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Plans also detail a major wellness offer on the first floor.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  This would include a gym, yoga studios, treatment and consulting rooms, massage space, a relaxation room, infrared saunas, flotation tanks, oxygen chambers and cryotherapy facilities.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The development would share a building currently occupied by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, and 63 car parking spaces will be available.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The applicant said: \u201cThis application proposes to make efficient use of an under-utilised building by providing a use which supports the local economy through a unique visitor-based concept.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cIt will provide a variety of employment opportunities which diversifies from the existing opportunities offered within Southampton International Business Park.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cThe proposals maximise the potential of a site that could not otherwise be used for any other purposes.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The main entrance and existing car parking arrangements would be retained, with users directed through the shared entrance lobby using signs.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The design and access statement explains that the ground floor would be arranged with the bar and restaurant at the front of the building, while golf bays and a shop would occupy the remaining space.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  A members-only lounge is also proposed as part of the development.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  On the first floor, the plans would retain office accommodation alongside the new gym and wellbeing facilities.
