Photo \/ Photosport<\/p>\n<p class=\"eYVVqkRVmn\" style=\"display:none\">Provided his team reach the final on January 26, Chapman would be unavailable for the three-match one day international series, as well as the first of three T20 internationals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"eYVVqkRVmn\" style=\"display:none\">He will, though, still be available for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nzherald.co.nz\/sport\/cricket\/international-cricket-schedule-black-caps-host-india-and-sri-lanka-white-ferns-welcome-bangladesh\/W6PP4V5BAZAKRIPA22MGZ42QAM\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.nzherald.co.nz\/sport\/cricket\/international-cricket-schedule-black-caps-host-india-and-sri-lanka-white-ferns-welcome-bangladesh\/W6PP4V5BAZAKRIPA22MGZ42QAM\/\">India\u2019s tour of New Zealand beginning next month<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"eYVVqkRVmn\" style=\"display:none\">Chapman was one of 20 players <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nzherald.co.nz\/sport\/cricket\/black-caps\/black-caps-name-2026-27-central-contract-list-with-devon-conway-return\/SGX47ITGOZAPRP6FPGW2A6AEEE\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.nzherald.co.nz\/sport\/cricket\/black-caps\/black-caps-name-2026-27-central-contract-list-with-devon-conway-return\/SGX47ITGOZAPRP6FPGW2A6AEEE\/\">to sign a NZC central contract earlier this year<\/a>, where players are ranked by their value to the organisation and the Black Caps across formats, and paid accordingly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"eYVVqkRVmn\" style=\"display:none\">The central contract list for the 2026-27 season saw Chapman \u2013 along with Michael Bracewell \u2013 opt out of any ranking for red ball and test cricket.<\/p>\n<p class=\"eYVVqkRVmn\" style=\"display:none\">Instead, Chapman will become the fifth player in this cycle to sign a casual deal with NZC, joining Finn Allen, Tim Seifert, Lockie Ferguson and Adam Milne.<\/p>\n<p class=\"eYVVqkRVmn\" style=\"display:none\">Amid the changing landscape of international cricket, in balance with the huge sums of money available to players in the franchise world, Chapman has become a mainstay of New Zealand\u2019s white ball plans.<\/p>\n<p class=\"eYVVqkRVmn\" style=\"display:none\">Since switching his allegiance from Hong Kong to New Zealand in 2018, Chapman has played 35 one-day internationals for the Black Caps and 94 T20 internationals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"eYVVqkRVmn\" style=\"display:none\">Chapman\u2019s place on NZC\u2019s central contract list has been filled by fast bowler Matt Fisher. <\/p>\n<p class=\"eYVVqkRVmn\" style=\"display:none\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nzherald.co.nz\/author\/alex-powell\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\">Alex Powell<\/a> is a sports journalist for the NZ Herald.
