KoRn<\/a> appear to have finished recording their new album.<\/p>\n

The Bakersfield, California nu-metal band\u00a0released their first new music in four years recently<\/a> with \u2018Reward The Scars\u2019, which they created for the video game Diablo IV: Lord Of Hatred<\/a>.\u00a0They also shared the gory animated video for the track<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Guitarist James \u2018Munky\u2019 Shaffer also recently shared that the band had written 40 songs<\/a> for the follow-up to\u00a02022\u2019s\u00a0\u2018Requiem<\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n

Now, drummer Ray Luzier\u2019s drum tech, Mark Bennett has appeared to confirm that they have wrapped up recording sessions for their new album.<\/p>\n

Speaking during Luzier\u2019s recent appearance on YouTube channel Drumeo, Bennett, while holding a Pearl Copper Free Floating snare, said: \u201cThis is what we just finished recording the new record with. They discontinued this drum. You can\u2019t get it anymore. Thankfully, we have five of them.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Bennett did not share any further detail on the record but Munky recently told Rolling Stone Brasil<\/a>: \u201cIt\u2019s taking a fucking long time. We\u2019ve gone through\u2026 I swear to God, we\u2019ve written probably almost 40 songs, and gone through \u2019em, and rewrote \u2019em, and got rid of \u2019em, and tore \u2019em apart, and rebuilt \u2019em.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd it\u2019s been quite a long process, because we\u2019re very critical about what we do now. We\u2019re very particular, in\u2026 because we wanna keep our original sound. You can\u2019t really get away from that \u2013 when we start playing, it sounds like KoRn, especially with all five of us.\u201d<\/p>\n

In February, KoRn\u2019s Brian \u2018Head\u2019 Welch gave\u00a0Loudwire<\/a> an update on where the band were at in terms of new music.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re focusing right now on our live show,\u201d he explained. \u201cIt feels like we don\u2019t even need a new album. Everything\u2019s just going so well, but that\u2019s not to say we\u2019re not going to find some time to go in again. I feel like it\u2019s not [a] priority right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, he said the group were \u201cgoing to meet together and see where we\u2019re at\u201d. Welch then teased: \u201cThere could be a couple of surprises this year. We\u2019re going to have some cool announcements for dates around the world and stuff coming this year.\u201d<\/p>\n

The musician said in late 2024 that\u00a0KoRn were \u201cstill working\u201d on their next full-length project and had \u201cgot a lot of it [written]\u201d<\/a>, but warned fans that it wouldn\u2019t be arriving anytime soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd we\u2019re very happy with what we got, but it\u2019s just gonna take a while,\u201d he went on. \u201cAnd I don\u2019t know how long \u2013 maybe next summer, maybe next year, the next winter, I don\u2019t know, but it\u2019s not gonna be soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, KoRn\u2019s hit song \u2018Freak On A Leash\u2019 recently went viral<\/a> on TikTok<\/a>, thanks to a new dance trend involving\u00a0Zara Larsson<\/a>.<\/p>\n
