\n\tBruce Campbell<\/a> is speaking out further after revealing his cancer diagnosis. <\/p>\n

\n\tDuring a Sept. 2 appearance on\u00a0The Adam Carolla Show<\/a>, the\u00a0Evil Dead\u00a0actor said that he was given five years to live, \u201cgive or take,\u201d after being diagnosed with cancer.\u00a0He did not reveal which cancer he has been diagnosed with. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWith the type of cancer that I have, which I don\u2019t want to get into, the current thing is a five-year deal,\u201d Campbell said. \u201cI\u2019ve decided pretty specifically though to live with it, not die from it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe went on to say that it can be easy to \u201cgo down a massive rabbit hole\u201c given \u201cthe cancer rabbit hole is enormous.\u201d He explained, \u201cYou can go into focus groups of 10,000 guys who have exactly what you have. I won\u2019t touch it with a 10-foot pole.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCampbell\u2018s appearance on the podcast was to promote his new film, Ernie & Emma<\/a>, which follows a small-town pear salesman following the death of his wife, Emma. <\/p>\n

\n\tDespite his health, Campbell said he decided he wants to carry on with his life and live normally: \u201cWhen I promote this movie, I have nothing. I\u2019m free and clear when I promote this movie. You have to make this decision of, \u2018Oh okay, but do I have to stop everything I\u2019m doing because of this?\u2019 Well no. So, it\u2019s a sort of whack-a-mole life, literally.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe added, \u201cYou don\u2019t die from cancer, you die from what cancer does to you. It does weird shit and then you address it and move on.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn March, Campbell publicly announced that he has a condition, which is \u201ctreatable not curable.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\n\tIn a social media post, the\u00a0actor wrote, \u201cHi folks, these days, when someone is having a\u00a0health\u00a0issue, it\u2019s referred to as an \u2018opportunity,\u2019 so let\u2019s go with that \u2014 I\u2019m having one of those. It\u2019s also called a type of cancer that\u2019s \u2018treatable,\u2019 not \u2018curable.\u2019 I apologize if that\u2019s a shock \u2014 it was to me too.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe good news is, I\u2019m not gonna go into any more detail,\u201c he continued. \u201cI\u2019m posting this because professionally, a few things will have to change \u2014 appearances and [fan conventions] and work in general need to take a back seat to treatment. My plan is to get as well as I possibly can over the summer so that I can tour with my new movie\u00a0Ernie & Emma\u00a0this fall.\u201c<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThat\u2019s about it,\u201d he concluded. \u201cI\u2019m not trying to enlist sympathy \u2014 or advice \u2014 I just want to get ahead of this information in case false information gets out (which it will). Fear not, I am a tough old son-of-a-bitch and I have great support, so I expect to be around a while.
