Perez put some cold water on the rumor, saying that Taskmaster was likely originally set to appear in the movie, but due to rewrites on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/Thunderbolts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Thunderbolts*<\/a> that saw Taskmaster\u2019s character killed in the beginning of the movie, that likely isn\u2019t happening anymore.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeahhhhhhhhh\u2026no. That was probably before the rewrites with Taskmaster,\u201d said Perez. When asked if they have plans for the character after 2027\u2019s Avengers: Secret Wars, Perez replied with a simple \u201cnope.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Olga Kurylenko, who played Taskmaster in Thunderbolts*, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/movies\/611414-taskmaster-mcu-actor-opens-up-about-thunderbolts-script-changes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">opened up about her role in the movie last month<\/a>, saying it was a \u201cpity\u201d that script changes made it so that her character didn\u2019t stay longer in the movie.<\/p>\n<p>Avengers: Doomsday, meanwhile, arrives in United States theaters on December 18, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the <a href=\"http:\/\/superherohype.com\/tag\/marvel-cinematic-universe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">MCU<\/a>.
