There is plenty of change at the top of the heavyweight division right now.<\/p>\n

Another big win for Moses Ituama at the weekend, this time over veteran Dillian Whyte,<\/a> is good news for a division which is seeing plenty of new names emerge as possible next-generation champions.<\/p>\n

For several years, the heavyweight belts have been dominated by the likes of Tyson Fury<\/a>, Deontay Wilder<\/a>, Anthony Joshua<\/a> and current undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk<\/a>, with challengers like Derek Chisora and Joseph Parker now also nearing the end of their careers and pushing 40.<\/p>\n

Daniel Dubois<\/a> is one man who has previously got amongst the honours, and now Itauma is also looking like a future star after his latest knockout win inside the first two rounds.<\/p>\n

However, one big-name former heavyweight champion has now announced he is looking to get back into action at the end of this year or the start of next.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Fight Hype,<\/a> Andy Ruiz Jr laid out his plans, having been away for a while recovering from surgery on a damaged hand.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy hands are good, feeling good. Mentally, spiritually, I\u2019m feeling good. September, I\u2019m going to go over there and talk to Turki and talk to people who can get me these fighters, and hopefully, December, January, we\u2019re going to get back in there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ruiz Jr famously beat Joshua back in June 2019 when he was a late stand-in for Jarrell Miller, who failed a drug test. He stopped Joshua inside six rounds to become unified world heavyweight champion, but lost the rematch six months later and has since fought just three times, most recently drawing with Jarrell Miller back in August last year.<\/p>\n
