National Highways said the crash happened shortly after 21:00 BST and it believed three vehicles were involved. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Thames Valley Police said the westbound side of the motorway, heading from London towards Reading, was likely to stay closed for &#8220;a number of hours&#8221; with the eastbound side likely to reopen at some time on Thursday morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Traffic heading west is being diverted off the motorway at junction 8\/9 and onto the A404M and east off at junction 10 to the A329M northbound.
