Nicole Kidman felt \u201cbeyond lonely\u201d the night she won her 2003 Oscar because she didn\u2019t have a partner to celebrate her success with. <\/p>\n
\u201cI had the pinnacle of my success, and I went home and was so lonely,\u201d The \u201cPractical Magic 2\u201d star \u2014 who had split from ex-husband Tom Cruise two years earlier \u2014 said on Thursday\u2019s episode of Jake Shane\u2019s \u201cTherapuss\u201d podcast<\/a>.<\/p>\n She added, \u201cSo, yeah, crazy, though, that sort of the confluence of events where you go, \u2018I wish\u2026\u2019 I had my mom with me and my dad, but I was like, \u2018Where\u2019s my partner, someone that I can share this with?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Nicole Kidman says she was \u201cbeyond lonely\u201d when she won an Oscar in 2003. This is the highest sort of prize you can get in our industry.\u2019 And so grateful and yet so lonely.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019d love to be able to just, you know, be wrapped in somebody\u2019s arms right now,\u201d she added. \u201cI\u2019d love to be around now, something that feels really, \u2018Oh, OK, this is my real life.\u2019 \u201d<\/p>\n Kidman, who won a 2003 Best Actress Oscar for portraying Virginia Woolf in \u201cThe Hours,\u201d and Cruise split in 2001.<\/a><\/p>\n The actress, seen here on \u201cTherapuss,\u201d shared the story while promoting \u201cPractical Magic 2\u201d with Sandra Bullock. You\u2019ve got to walk through the party carrying your Academy Award,\u2019\u201d she divulged. \u201cI said, \u2018That just feels like gloating, and it doesn\u2019t feel humble.\u2019 Like, what? You can\u2019t walk through carrying the award! That feels really inappropriate. WireImage<\/p>\n Kidman did attend the party, and it went as well as she gloomily predicted.<\/p>\n \u201cSo I literally walked in, carried it around, was completely overwhelmed, emotional, shaking, and I didn\u2019t enjoy it,\u201d she said. \u201cI was almost apologetic, which is so stupid. I wish I could have enjoyed it more.\u201d<\/p>\n She and Cruise, who met on the set of \u201cDays of Thunder,\u201d married in 1990.
