Publisher and developer Level-5 has officially pushed back Decapolice<\/a>, its sci-fi detective RPG.<\/p>\n

The game, which was most recently slated for 2026, is now scheduled for sometime in 2027.<\/p>\n

Decapolice was initially announced<\/a> in 2023 and was due to launch that same year, but the game has since been delayed multiple times.<\/p>\n

There’s a new trailer, at least:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino spoke about the game during the company’s Vision 2026 broadcast. “Decapolice takes a whole new approach to detective work with cases that unfold in a virtual world,” he says.<\/p>\n

“Like [Professor Layton], Decapolice is puzzle-based, but tells a very different story. At the heart of the story lies a great mystery, with twists and turns unlike anything we\u2019ve done before.”<\/p>\n

The game has you investigating crimes within a virtual realm called Decasim, combining detective elements with turn-based RPG style combat and anime-inspired visuals.<\/p>\n

“We know it\u2019s taking some time to get the game ready, but we\u2019re working to deliver a truly unique gameplay experience,” Hino says. “We\u2019ll have more to share in the future!”<\/p>\n

We played the game back in 2023 and came away really impressed; it’s a shame it’s been delayed once again. Hopefully 2027 is Decapolice’s year.<\/p>\n
