{"id":767458,"date":"2026-09-11T16:58:18","date_gmt":"2026-09-11T16:58:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/767458\/"},"modified":"2026-09-11T16:58:18","modified_gmt":"2026-09-11T16:58:18","slug":"beverley-knight-to-sing-dolly-parton-at-last-night-of-the-proms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/767458\/","title":{"rendered":"Beverley Knight to sing Dolly Parton at Last Night of the Proms"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Knight&#8217;s career has spanned more than 30 years, with the Wolverhampton-born singer known for hits including Shoulda Woulda Coulda and Get Up.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">She has also played starring roles in the musicals The Bodyguard, Cats and The Drifters Girl. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The 2026 Proms season has included 86 concerts, with 72 Proms at the Royal Albert Hall and 14 at venues around the UK.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The Last Night programme will also feature world premieres by British composer Anne Dudley and Canadian composer and conductor Samy Moussa.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">International pianist Yuja Wang will make her Proms debut performing Samuel Barber&#8217;s Piano Concerto, while Scottish tenor Nicky Spence will perform excerpts from Anton\u00edn Dvo\u0159\u00e1k&#8217;s Rusalka and Frank Loesser&#8217;s Guys and Dolls.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The traditional finale will include Rule, Britannia!, Jerusalem, Elgar&#8217;s Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1 and Auld Lang Syne.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The Last Night of the Proms will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 from 19:10 BST Saturday bringing the BBC Proms&#8217; eight-week 2026 season to a close.
