Joe Tate<\/a> (Ned Porteous<\/a>) is a changed man following Dawn Taylor\u2019s (Olivia Bromley) Emmerdale death<\/a>.<\/p>\n Joe is in an absolute spin. He\u2019s lost the one person who brought out the good in him, and his grief is all consuming, bringing back the old, ruthless Joe<\/a>. He\u2019s blinkered to the loved ones around him, shutting them all out. But most painfully, he\u2019s turned his back on Dawn\u2019s three children and their own newborn son.<\/p>\n In a fit of grief-ridden rage, Joe seethed that he wanted nothing to do with the kids and told Billy Fletcher<\/a> (Jay Kontzle<\/a>) that they\u2019re his problem now. Painful enough for children to hear that have just lost their mum, but Joe\u2019s about to go one better.<\/p>\n He tells them they are not even allowed to attend their own mum\u2019s funeral. Everyone is banned; it\u2019ll just be him and Dawn.<\/p>\n \u2018He\u2019s feeling like his way of controlling the situation is to remove the outsiders,\u2019 reveals Ned of Joe\u2019s warped state of mind.<\/p>\n He\u2019s not thinking straight yet is laser focused on one thing and one thing only \u2013 revenge<\/a>.<\/p>\n \t\t \u2018He probably blames anyone who came into contact with her over the last few weeks,\u2019 says Ned. \u2018All adding to this butterfly effect leading to the crash. She and Caleb Miligan<\/a> (William Ash<\/a>) convinced Dawn she should leave Joe on their wedding day<\/a> \u2013 and even provided fake passports!<\/p>\n Ruby heads to Home Farm to beg Joe to change his mind about the children attending the funeral. This is a red flag to a bull, Joe loses it. He threatens her, warning that he\u2019s unable to control his anger.<\/p>\n \u2018Ruby represents the enemy in his mind,\u2019 Ned says, which is a very dangerous place to be.<\/p>\n \t\t Her card is now marked.<\/p>\n It\u2019s Clemmie who gets him to soften towards the three of them after a heart-to-heart chat, and he relents and agrees to let the kids attend.<\/p>\n But he\u2019s not gone soft. He quietly tells Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) that he intends to exact revenge on those he perceives had a direct hand in his loss \u2013 including Ruby and Billy. What will he get Graham to do?<\/p>\n \u2018There\u2019ll be bad blood for a while yet,\u2019 Ned teased. \u2019Joe\u2019s not one to drop a grudge.
