\n Reports of a blaze at the historic mill complex first emerged at around 8pm on Saturday night.\n<\/p>\n
\n In a statement, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue confirmed 12 fire engines were in attendance.\n<\/p>\n
\n A T&A reporter at the scene has confirmed a significant response from all three emergency services, with police units and ambulances also in attendance.\n<\/p>\n
\n The cause of the fire is not yet known, and no further details have been released.\n<\/p>\n
Eyewitness accounts<\/p>\n
\n One eyewitness said: “I was driving down the A650 and I could just see all this smoke.\n<\/p>\n
\n “I pulled over to have a look and I couldn’t believe the size of the fire.<\/p>\n
“It’s unbelievable.”\n<\/p>\n

\n A Keighley resident said: “Very saddened and shocked.\n<\/p>\n
\n “This site has given a lot to the film industry and consequently the country.”\n<\/p>\n
\n Another eyewitness from Keighley said: “It seemed to start on the top floor. The roof had already gone, then we think the floor collapsed about 8:45pm to 9pm.”\n<\/p>\n
MP reaction<\/p>\n
\n In a statement on social media Robbie Moore, MP for Keighley & Ilkley, said: “Extremely concerning scenes at Dalton Mills in Keighley this evening.”\n<\/p>\n
\n He added: “Huge thanks to our emergency services for all their efforts and bravery as they continue to tackle the blaze and put out this major fire, and ensure all are safe.”\n<\/p>\n

\n On social media, a spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: “At approximately 8:00pm, we were called to a large fire involving Dalton Mills, Keighley.\n<\/p>\n
\n “We currently have 12 fire engines at the incident as firefighters continue to tackle the large incident.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Please avoid the area while emergency crews work at the scene. Residents nearby are advised to keep their windows and doors closed until further notice.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Thank you for your cooperation. Further incident updates to follow, link will be added to the comments.”\n<\/p>\n
