(Photo by Carl Recine\/Getty Images) <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"expand\" src=\"https:\/\/eu-cdn.rugbypass.com\/images\/common-svg\/select-arrow.svg\" height=\"6\" width=\"11\"\/>      <a href=\"https:\/\/google.com\/preferences\/source?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.rugbypass.com%2F\" onclick=\"GATracking.sendDataLayerEvent(&#039;preferredsourcegoogle&#039;);\" aria-label=\"Google Prefered Source\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1789350857_6_google_preferred_source_badge_light.png\" alt=\"Google Prefered Source\" width=\"141\" height=\"44\" class=\"google-source\"\/> <\/a>     <\/p>\n<p>62-year-old <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/teams\/new-zealand\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">All Blacks<\/a> head coach Dave Rennie has provided a mixed injury report post Rugby\u2019s Greatest Rivalry tour, ahead of a two-week break before the Bledisloe Cup.<\/p>\n<p>The All Blacks will return home from an energy-sapping seven-week-long tour, before naming a 34-man squad for two fixtures against Les Kiss\u2019 Wallabies.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the travelling <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/teams\/new-zealand\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">New Zealand<\/a> media in Baltimore, Rennie had a promising update on former All Blacks captain Scott Barrett, who could feature in the upcoming squad.<\/p>\n<p>Barrett, who didn\u2019t play for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/teams\/crusaders\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Crusaders<\/a> in 2026 or for the All Blacks since Rennie took over, will be close for October\u2019s Bledisloe Cup fixtures.<\/p>\n<p>So too will be versatile Crusaders outside-back <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/teams\/leicester\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Leicester<\/a> Fainga\u2019anuku, who sustained a fibula fracture towards the back end of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/super-rugby\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Super Rugby Pacific<\/a> in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo Scott Barrett should be back in time for that as well, and people like Leicester Fainga\u2019anuku, so you know we\u2019ve lost a few, but we\u2019ll get a few back, which is positive,\u201d Rennie said in Baltimore.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not good news for current All Blacks captain Ardie Savea and vice-captain Luke Jacobson, who are set to miss the upcoming two Tests against Australia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, we\u2019ll pick a squad of 34. We\u2019ve already had a little bit of a think around what that might look like, knowing that Luke Jacobson and Ardie, those sorts of guys, will be out.<\/p>\n<p>      <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1789350858_204_811.png.webp\"\/> <\/p>\n<p> New Zealand <\/p>\n<p>    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1789350858_21_802.png.webp\"\/> <\/p>\n<p> Australia <\/p>\n<p>    <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/live\/australia-vs-new-zealand\/?g=949626\/\" class=\"link-box\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">   <\/p>\n<p>All Blacks midfielder Anton Lienert-Brown left the field in the first half with a knee injury, with Rennie providing an initial update on his status.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot sure.
