\u201cI\u2019ve actually experimented with it, with some trainings for having it, not having it, and I feel a huge difference,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
As for whether he will pop a couple of placenta pills in the countdown to Wednesday night\u2019s stoush, he replied: \u201cOh yeah, of course. I\u2019ll probably take two sets, two doses.\u201d<\/p>\n
If you were thinking freeze-dried capsules don\u2019t sound too difficult to stomach, Tszyu admitted they\u2019re not for the squeamish.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s weird. It\u2019s very strong and potent,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
As for his wife\u2019s breast milk, he has quickly acquired a taste for it, although he added: \u201cI\u2019ve only had it once or twice.\u201d<\/p>\n
Tszyu has never been shy when it comes to experimenting with his diet. As well as chowing down on bull\u2019s testicles, raw liver and a pig\u2019s eye, he once ate the heart of a snake and drank its blood during a training camp in Thailand.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey cut it [the snake] up in front of us,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd they poured the blood into a shot glass.<\/p>\n
\u201cUsually they mix it with an alcohol. But I was close to a fight and I was like, \u2018Please, no rum. Just give me the heart and blood.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201cI chewed it. It wasn\u2019t bad. The snake\u2019s blood was actually delicious. It was like herby.\u201d<\/p>\n
Surprisingly, there are some food items Tszyu gives a wide berth.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m pretty fussy with some things,\u201d he said. \u201cI don\u2019t like mushrooms. I don\u2019t like beetroot, celery.<\/p>\n
\u201cOrgans and meats and stuff, they don\u2019t taste nice, but I\u2019ll have them anyway, just to say I had it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Unbeaten in the first 10 fights of his professional career, Tszyu is looking forward to his first bout since beating fellow Sydneysider Koen Mazoudier last August.<\/p>\n
During his 12 months out of the ring, he underwent extensive surgery to repair a broken knuckle and torn tendon in his left hand.<\/p>\n
Ismaili, his opponent on Wednesday, is also undefeated and has won six of his 12 previous professional bouts by knockout.<\/p>\n
\u201cTwo men go into this ring and they fight it out until death,\u201d said Tszyu, the younger son of boxing legend Kostya Tszyu and brother of former world junior-middleweight champion Tim Tszyu<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s the kind of mentality I\u2019m going into it with, and I hope that\u2019s the same mentality he\u2019s going in with.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a crazy way to make a living, but I\u2019ve learnt to embrace it.\u201d<\/p>\n Other high-profile fighters on Wednesday\u2019s undercard include Michael Zerafa \u2013 a no-show at Monday\u2019s press conference \u2013 and Sydney\u2019s Brock Jarvis.<\/p>\n Loading<\/p>\n Consuming the placenta after childbirth has increased in popularity after celebrities such as Kim Kardashian publicised ingesting their own for supposed health benefits to recover after giving birth.<\/p>\n While Tszyu and Kardashian took it in pill form, after the placenta has dried, it can also be consumed as a smoothie.<\/p>\n Businesses offer placenta services that typically range from $250 to $450.<\/p>\n Many women who have ingested their placenta say it helps with recovery and post-natal depression, though there is sparse scientific evidence that there are any health benefits and, in some instances, could adversely affect the health<\/a> of the mother and baby. <\/p>\n
