Hull KR have confirmed that a total of ten players will leave Craven Park at the end of the 2026 season, with the club also announcing key staff departures.

Of those staff leaving is head coach Willie Peters with the Australian set to return down under and take up the role as head coach of incoming NRL side PNG Chiefs, whose maiden season in the Australian top flight will be in 2028.

Joining Peters at PNG is the national team captain, Rhyse Martin, with the goal-kicking forward retiring and taking up an off-field role with the Chiefs, as previously announced.

The exit of Joe Burgess has also been previously confirmed with the winger leaving despite being under contract, however, Hull KR have now confirmed eight more players who will depart.

Perhaps the biggest name on the list, as well as the most expected, is forward Tevita Pangai Jr. The former State of Origin man arrived mid-season and it simply has not worked out with the prop finding himself banned for more games than he has played, and he’ll depart in the hope of finding an NRL gig.

His intent to return to Australia was reported in the media down under and when asked last week, Willie Peters didn’t confirm or deny that but the club have now bid farewell.

Hull KR farewell departing players and staff

Also leaving the club is Leon Ruan, who has spent the season on loan at Bradford Bulls, a move that is set to become permanent for 2027.

Most Read on Serious About Rugby League

Lee Kershaw also leaves the club after a difficult spell at Craven Park on account of injuries with the ex-London man signing for the Robins in 2025 but having to wait until round 25 of this season before making his Super League debut for the club.

Young prop Zach Fishwick also departs, as does veteran Ryan Hampshire with the playmaker stepping up during Mikey Lewis’ ban. Academy players Alfie Petty and Alfie Woods are also on the list. So too is Jack Brown, who actually left the club in June to sign for Castleford Tigers.

The club also bid farewell to several staff, including Willie Peters, but also their senior athletic performance coach Harry Coyle and beloved duo Sue Thompson and Allan Fellows, the latter who has served as kitman throughout 29 years at the club.

Both Thompson and Fellows received the Outstanding Achievement Award at the club’s end-of-season awards night on Friday, at which the departing players and staff were confirmed.

Your 2026 Outstanding Achievement Award goes toooo…..

Alan “Bonesy” Fellows and Sue Thompson for their contribution to Hull KR 👏#UpTheRobins🔴⚪️ pic.twitter.com/bxI74CASua

— Hull KR (@hullkrofficial) September 12, 2026

                                 ![]("https://www.newsbeep.com/uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/1789453694_945_srl-logo.png"/){kind=logo}
