\n Bolton Council\u2019s planning committee had rejected plans for the golf course back in 2022 but were overruled by government inspectors later that year.\n<\/p>\n
\n In autumn 2025, plans for 1,450 homes were put forward by developers Peel Land as part of the Lee Hall scheme, which developers say will run alongside but separate from the golf course.\n<\/p>\n
\n Peel also included plans for a new link road at Park Avenue to help ease concerns about traffic on the Chequerbent Roundabout.\n<\/p>\n
\n But as it stands, the scheme going ahead will still rely on Bolton being chosen to host the Ryder Cup golf tournament in 2035.\n<\/p>\n

\n Around 350,000 fans are expected to come to Bolton for the tournament if the hosting bid is successful.\n<\/p>\n
\n Last March, the Greater Manchester Combined Authority announced that the Park Avenue link road scheme would be one of several projects to benefit from a \u00a3500M wave of investments.\n<\/p>\n
