A 13th serving Metropolitan police<\/a> officer has been dismissed in relation to an undercover BBC investigation into misogyny and racism at Charing Cross police station.<\/p>\n

PC Mason O\u2019Connor was found to have committed discreditable conduct and breached professional behaviour standards, linked to a comment he made towards a female colleague, according to the Met.<\/p>\n

The Panorama investigation aired in October 2025<\/a> and followed seven months of undercover filming. It included footage of officers calling for immigrants to be shot and boasting about using violence against suspects.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, a disciplinary panel heard that O\u2019Connor told a female colleague in October 2024 that he \u201chope[d] you get raped on your way to Waterloo\u201d, while he was off-duty in a pub.<\/p>\n

The incident was reported as part of a witness appeal and \u201cproactive wider investigation\u201d launched after the broadcast of the Panorama film.<\/p>\n

At the time, the Met police commissioner, Sir Mark Rowley, said the footage was \u201cvile to watch<\/a>\u201d and featured \u201cincontrovertible evidence\u201d that would enable the fast-tracking of misconduct hearings.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Connor\u2019s sacking comes a few weeks after the dismissal of PC Lloyd Hunter, who was found to have made comments that trivialised the use of force and suggested that he would enjoy using force against members of the public. Hunter also said he \u201chated\u201d homeless people.<\/p>\n

Commander Simon Messinger, from the Met\u2019s professionalism department, said: \u201cTwo more officers have now been dismissed for their appalling comments and attitudes.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope this sends a very clear message about the standards we expect from all our officers and the Met\u2019s determination to improve our culture across the organisation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe continue to support the ongoing IOPC [Independent Office for Police<\/a> Conduct] investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n

The IOPC confirmed that investigations were continuing against 15 other officers or police staff and that misconduct had been identified from footage provided by the BBC<\/a> which had not been included in the Panorama broadcast.<\/p>\n

A gross misconduct hearing is scheduled for later this month over comments made by a detention officer regarding the treatment of people being held in police custody.<\/p>\n

Amanda Rowe, the IOPC\u2019s director of engagement, said: \u201cThis is one of our largest ever investigations in terms of the number of officers investigated, and the sheer number of fast-tracked disciplinary proceedings show how seriously the IOPC and the Met, who held the misconduct hearings, are treating this matter.\u201d<\/p>\n
