{"id":772991,"date":"2026-09-16T23:04:09","date_gmt":"2026-09-16T23:04:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/772991\/"},"modified":"2026-09-16T23:04:09","modified_gmt":"2026-09-16T23:04:09","slug":"cm-punk-inspired-lil-yachty-to-make-some-big-decisions-in-his-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/772991\/","title":{"rendered":"CM Punk inspired Lil Yachty to make some big decisions in his life"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">Lil Yachty\u2019s longtime wrestling fandom has been well-documented, but what may be surprising is that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cagesideseats.com\/wwe\/475829\/cm-punk-vertigo-2002-skull-fracture-wwe-pro-wrestling\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CM Punk<\/a> was once his favorite wrestler.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">During the interview, Yachty spoke about his real-life friendship with Trick, working with Baron Corbin, and his goal of being the second-best manager ever (after Paul Heyman).<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">At one point during the discussion, Van Vliet asked the star who his favorite wrestler was when he was growing up.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">\u201cCM Punk,\u201d Yachy answered. \u201cIn high school, I used to draw the X\u2019s on my hand, and I was going to tattoo them, and I just never did it. But I got so many pictures for me with these two X\u2019s on my hands, and I was sober because of CM Punk for a long time until I became an adult.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">He continued, \u201cI didn\u2019t do any drugs in high school. I didn\u2019t drink. I didn\u2019t do drugs. I was sober. You couldn\u2019t influence me to do anything because of CM Punk. Punk was sober. I was sober. Punk is still sober, but he was my guy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">Yachty went on to name Jeff Hardy and the tag team Cryme Tyme as other favorites during his youth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">\u201cPunk was my favorite though,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">\u201cWhen did you have a chance to finally meet him?\u201d Van Vliet asked.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">\u201cI think I met him at WrestleMania, but when he came over to Smackdown, I finally. actually got to have like a little conversation with him,\u201d Yachty said, before adding with a laugh, \u201cHe was like, \u2018You\u2019re regular here (in WWE).\u2019 He said that to me in the hallway. I was like, \u2018Yes, sir, Mr. Punk, \u2019cause that\u2019s literally how I kind of am with him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">He went on to say that while he\u2019s also a celebrity to most of the world, when he\u2019s working in WWE, he feels like a \u201ckid\u201d and \u201cthese are the celebrities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">What do you think of Yachty\u2019s CM Punk fandom?
