In a new TikTok, the singer told fans about a difficult period that caused her to stop releasing music.<\/p>\n

The clip showed her sipping a drink while a remix of her iconic 2009 hit \u2018Bulletproof\u2019 plays.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou think you can hurt me?,\u201d she wrote. \u201cI literally wrote and sung this song, lost my voice, had a nervous breakdown and disappeared for 10 years.\u201d<\/p>\n

It comes after the release of her single \u2018Lose Myself\u2019<\/a>, which sees her open up about her auADHD diagnosis and addictions. The track comes from her upcoming fourth studio album, \u2018Old Flames\u2019<\/a>, which will be released on November 6 via Vertigo Records. She\u2019s also shared the singles Babyline\u2019<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0\u2018Cabin Fever\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2018Old Flames\u2019 is the long-awaited follow-up to 2020\u2019s\u00a0\u2018Supervision\u2019<\/a>. The forthcoming album finds Jackson facing the collapse of a 17-year relationship head-on, and tackling themes of forbidden love, loneliness \u201cthat comes with addiction, and the struggle to reconcile sexuality and identity when in the public eye\u201d.<\/p>\n

Within the lyrics on the LP, the synth-pop star references everything from\u00a0David Lynch<\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0Donnie Darko\u00a0while \u201ccapturing a sound that is both immersive and nostalgic, while also forward-facing\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis record says things how they are: how I am and who I am. It\u2019s been a process of admitting what I got wrong through telling these tales and coming to terms with where I am now,\u201d Jackson explained previously.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2019Old Flames\u2019 is essentially me processing why I\u2019ve behaved the way that I have and saying goodbye to it. It\u2019s a farewell to that way of behaving in love and life. And in music too.\u201d<\/p>\n
