Our team of contributors are returning as we count down to the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Gameweek 5 deadline.<\/p>\n

This time, we hear from FPL General, who shares the thoughts behind his Wildcard team.<\/p>\n

General, aka Mark,\u00a0has three top 500 finishes to his name, as well as a further nine inside the top 50k. He currently sits at 99k in the world.<\/p>\n

Gameweek 4 Review<\/p>\n

Tripling your rank in Triple Captain week isn\u2019t a fun experience! The Troops have just dropped from 33k to 99k. Cole Palmer (\u00a39.7m) didn\u2019t get the mega-haul I was hoping for against Hull City, but at least it wasn\u2019t a Sadio Man\u00e9 or Leroy San\u00e9 type of disaster.<\/p>\n

Two free transfers brought in Palmer and Maxim De Cuyper (\u00a34.9m) for Bruno Fernandes (\u00a312.0m) and the injured Joe Rodon (\u00a34.4m). I was torn between getting De Cuyper or moving Bryan Mbeumo (\u00a37.9m) to Morgan Rogers (\u00a37.7m).<\/p>\n

In the end, I prioritised fixing the weakest area of my squad. In typical FPL fashion, the alternative route would\u2019ve banked more points because there\u2019d have been a Leif Davis (\u00a34.0m) start. Grrrr! What a season the Ipswich left-back is having; he\u2019s doing his best Leighton Baines impression (minus the penalties).<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Antonin Kinsky (\u00a34.5m) and Bart Verbruggen (\u00a34.5m) goalkeeping rotation has returned two clean sheets out of three (surrounding the recent Free Hit). For the long term, Kinsky is the one I\u2019m looking to set and forget.<\/p>\n

As an owner of Ben White (\u00a35.5m) and Martin Odegaard (\u00a36.7m), Arsenal\u2019s Saturday night win was painful, where David Raya (\u00a36.0m) saved a penalty, and Bukayo Saka (\u00a39.5m) netted his own. Thankfully, I was at Kevin Bridges in Glasgow with no phone signal!\u00a0<\/p>\n

At least defender-cum-winger De Cuyper was able to do the business. He\u2019s a gem, who I hope continues to play there during Gameweeks 6 and 7.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Furthermore, a nod to Dominic Calvert-Lewin (\u00a36.0m). The red arrow was looking much worse before he racked up 10 Monday night points.<\/p>\n

Current Gameweek 5 Wildcard Draft<\/p>\n

Wednesday\u2019s concerning Joao Pedro (\u00a37.8m) injury news<\/a> was exactly the excuse I needed to activate a Wildcard, knowing I had just one free transfer and several other things to change. <\/p>\n

Of course, having a squad refresh right before a three-week international break isn\u2019t ideal timing. But it feels right for my squad. I\u2019ve enjoyed being a bit more aggressive this season, though that\u2019s me out of chips already.<\/p>\n

This is where I\u2019m currently at\u2026\u00a0<\/p>\n
