After fans, musicians, and corporations weighed in on drama surrounding Ed Sheeran, he has now been slammed by a family member.<\/p>\n

First cousin Jethro Sheeran has labelled the musician a \u201ccoward\u201d in a brutal social media post.<\/p>\n

The comments come after American rapper Macklemore was removed from the tour following his \u201cFree Palestine\u201d remarks during a September 4 performance at New Jersey\u2019s MetLife Stadium, which has been the centre of much controversy.<\/p>\n

That fallout has now grown further with his family member weighing in on the drama.<\/p>\n

\u201cFinally it\u2019s all coming out! I\u2019m ashamed of my Cousin Ed and what he\u2019s done,\u201d Jethro wrote in the lengthy post<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cFinally the world and all his fans see through him. He\u2019s not a good person.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s honestly a selfish individual with malicious, cunning ways.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 44-year-old said Ed had previously \u201cscrewed (him) over\u201d and \u201cmade fun\u201d of his mental health struggles.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is shady and he\u2019s dropped Macklemore himself I believe 100% he\u2019s a coward,\u201d Jethro continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn my opinion he\u2019s a bad human. Just my opinion from my experiences.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jethro wrote that he felt Ed was \u201cnot a true Sheeran\u201d.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the week, Sheeran insisted the decision to drop Macklemore was not his.<\/p>\n

\u201cMacklemore coming off tour was the promoter\u2019s decision, it was not mine,\u201d Ed wrote on Instagram.<\/p>\n

\u201cMacklemore\u2019s contract for the tour was with the promoter, not me.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said stadium owner Robert Kraft objected to what he described as \u201chate speech\u201d, with other venues subsequently following suit.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am not complicit. I have my personal views on this devastating conflict,\u201d Ed said.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust because I choose not to speak publicly, it doesn\u2019t mean I don\u2019t have them, and it doesn\u2019t mean I don\u2019t care. Nor does it mean I don\u2019t support causes in my own, personal way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Macklemore acknowledged that taking a public position could come at a significant professional price.<\/p>\n

\u201cTaking a side can cost you,\u201d he wrote on social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cMoney, brand deals, sponsorships, festivals, private shows, relationships and access. I\u2019ve lost all of those things. But there is no neutral position between the oppressor and the oppressed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other supporting acts have since pulled out, while some fans are attempting to resell tickets or seek refunds.<\/p>\n

Sheeran\u2019s Instagram followers have fallen by at least 300,000.<\/p>\n

The post from his family member comes a day after Classic Hits Radio announced it would stop playing the British superstar\u2019s songs following feedback from listeners over Macklemore\u2019s removal from the tour.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur decision to remove Ed Sheeran\u2019s music from the Classic Hits Radio playlist has been carefully considered,\u201d Dave Kelly, group programme director at Bay Broadcasting, which runs the radio station, said in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is not intended as a personal judgment on Ed Sheeran, and we acknowledge his own explanation of the circumstances surrounding recent events.\u201d<\/p>\n
