{"id":775828,"date":"2026-09-19T13:52:09","date_gmt":"2026-09-19T13:52:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/775828\/"},"modified":"2026-09-19T13:52:09","modified_gmt":"2026-09-19T13:52:09","slug":"moses-itauma-set-for-comeback-fight-next-year-after-hrgovic-loss-got-to-be-some-serious-changes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/775828\/","title":{"rendered":"Moses Itauma set for comeback fight next year after Hrgovic Loss: &#8220;Got to be some serious changes&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Queensberry promoter Frank Warren expects \u201cserious changes\u201d to be made ahead of Moses Itauma\u2019s ring return in 2027.<\/p>\n<p>The 21-year-old entered his first world title fight last month, bidding to become the youngest heavyweight champion since <a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/news\/on-this-day-20-year-old-mike-tyson-savages-trevor-berbick-to-begin-reign-of-terror\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Mike Tyson dethroned Trevor Berbick in 1986<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/boxer\/filip-hrgovic\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Filip Hrgovic<\/a>, meanwhile, was generally written off and seen as a seasoned contender with tremendous durability, but who ultimately had a slim chance of winning.<\/p>\n<p>It then seemed as if an early night was on the cards, as the Croatian suffered a second-round knockdown and appeared overwhelmed by the speed of Itauma.<\/p>\n<p>After dominating practically every exchange, though, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skysports.com\/boxing\/news\/12183\/13578906\/filip-hrgovic-stuns-moses-itauma-with-epic-comeback-as-british-heavyweight-star-loses-unbeaten-record\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Itauma suddenly ran out of gas and was stopped on his feet in round nine<\/a>, with Hrgovic winning the vacant IBF title.<\/p>\n<p>In the wake of his first ever defeat, amateur or professional, many began to question the talented southpaw\u2019s ability to pace himself in a scheduled 12-round fight.<\/p>\n<p>Sure enough, this is also a concern of promoter Warren, who was furious to discover that Itauma, according to his brother Karol, would not feel like a champion unless he knocked Hrgovic out.<\/p>\n<p>The Queensberry boss has therefore told <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/LZ49b0p1Rj4?si=8l5qjziE43XLn56m\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">IFL TV<\/a> that he hopes certain changes can be made ahead of Itauma\u2019s comeback \u2018very early next year\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s going to fight very early next year. I\u2019ve spoken to him a few times; he\u2019s actually back in the gym.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m going to sit down with the team next week and we\u2019re going to go through everything. He\u2019s very disappointed because, first of all, he was winning the fight.
