Jack Brown scored six tries for Halifax Panthers as they crushed Leeds Rhinos 64-24 to win the Wheelchair Super League Grand Final and clinch back-to-back trebles.<\/p>\n
Brown’s England team-mate Rob Hawkins bagged four and Super League’s top two try scorers were unplayable at the National Basketball Performance Centre in Manchester.<\/p>\n
Brown finished the season with 67 tries – just three behind Hawkins.<\/p>\n
Leeds had the temerity to score first and they led 8-0 after 14 minutes through a Nathan Collins try, conversion and penalty, before Halifax took control.<\/p>\n
Hawkins broke through to score, before Brown displayed his speed and guile to score a hat-trick inside 13 minutes and stretch Halifax’s lead to 22-8.<\/p>\n
Hawkins ducked inside to score his second before he used his pace to collect a kick from player-coach Wayne Boardman, who kicked 10 conversions, to complete his hat-trick just before half-time.<\/p>\n
Leeds responded and Josh Butler reached out to touch down before Collins darted through to give Leeds some hope at 36-20 after 52 minutes.<\/p>\n
But back came Halifax and Brown showed his pace to score two tries, before Cian Horgan touched down in the left corner.<\/p>\n
