\n Dark Lane in Backwell has been shut following an incident involving a heavy goods vehicle.\n<\/p>\n
\n Police attended the scene on Thursday, September 17 and have been putting traffic cones in place while the road remains closed.\n<\/p>\n
\n Backwell Parish Council said: “Please do not attempt to drive up or down Dark Lane.\n<\/p>\n
\n “There has been an HGV oil spill on Dark Lane. Police are currently attending and putting cones in place.\n<\/p>\n
\n “The road is expected to remain closed throughout the day. It is therefore likely that the afternoon school run will also be affected.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Please avoid the area, allow extra time for your journey and make alternative arrangements where possible.”\n<\/p>\n
\n Drivers have been advised to seek alternative routes while work takes place to deal with the spill and make the road safe.\n<\/p>\n
\n The parish council said it would share further updates when more information becomes available.\n<\/p>\n
