The metal giants have extended their huge \u2018M72\u2019 world tour<\/a>, which kicked off back in April 2023 to mark their latest studio album \u201972 Seasons\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Following Lars Ulrich<\/a> and co\u2019s upcoming \u2018Life Burns Faster\u2019 Las Vegas residency at the Sphere<\/a>, Metallica will embark on another stint across the US and Canada next spring. They\u2019ll be joined at these dates by openers Limp Bizkit and Avatar.<\/p>\n

Kicking off on May 8 in Vancouver, the big stadium trek also includes \u201cin the round\u201d stops in San Diego, El Paso, San Antonio, Fayetteville, Kansas City, Raleigh, Indianapolis, Buffalo, Madison, Cleveland and Salt Lake City.<\/p>\n

Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time this Friday (September 25) \u2013 you\u2019ll be able to buy yours here<\/a>. Fan club pre-sales begin at the same time today (Monday September 21).<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Metallica wrapped up the latest leg of their mammoth \u2018M72\u2019 tour with two shows at the London Stadium this summer<\/a>. The pair of concerts were part of a \u201cno repeats\u201d weekend, with the group playing two completely different setlists.<\/p>\n

Earlier on the tour, they covered\u00a0The\u00a0Proclaimers\u2019 \u2018I\u2019m Gonna Be (500 Miles)\u2019 in Glasgow and\u00a0The Pogues\u2019 \u2018Dirty Old Town\u2019 in Dublin<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Kirk Hammett<\/a> revealed last year that he had 767 new riffs for Metallica\u2019s \u201cnext album\u201d<\/a>, teasing that the project might see them \u201cgo back to the \u201890s again\u201d.<\/p>\n

More recently, drummer Lars Ulrich looked ahead to the Las Vegas residency by saying he was \u201cfucking awestruck, inspired [and] energised\u201d by U2\u2019s stint at the Sphere<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s gonna be challenging,\u201d Ulrich said of the forthcoming shows at the immersive venue. \u201cAnd obviously, like everybody else I\u2019ve talked to about it, it\u2019s overwhelming and fucking intimidating<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Limp Bizkit headlined Download Festival back in June with a triumphant set\u00a0<\/a>filled with classics.
