\tGuest rates have been traditionally available at a vast swathe of leading courses for a long time. However, they are not always publicised and, naturally, unless you know a member of the club who can sign you in, then you aren’t going to get anywhere.<\/p>\n
\tBut there is a new venture that is seeking to make this an accessible option for more golfers.<\/p>\n
\tHow to Play The Best Golf Courses For Less<\/p>\n
\tHosted Rounds is a recently launched network of UK club members who have signed up to host each other as guests at their own clubs.<\/p>\n
\tFounded by Alex Greenwood, this could be transformative for those golfers out there who feel priced out by standard green fees that have made a considerable number of top courses across the country simply unaffordable for the majority.<\/p>\n
\tAlex said: “I wanted to play the courses everyone wants to play, and I kept coming back to the same answer. The way on is to know a member. Not a booking site, not a deal, a person. Once you notice that, you start wondering how many golfers are one introduction away from a course they have wanted to play for twenty years, and have no idea it would cost them forty quid.”<\/p>\n

Your WHS number and your home club will be verified to ensure that you’re eligible. Providing you have the ability to sign someone in for a guest rate, then you can be part of the network.<\/p>\n \tNames will be publicly\u00a0anonymous, with users being in control of whether conversations with others shall commence. During their journey as part of the network, golfers will be assigned ratings as both a host and as a guest.<\/p>\n \tWhile gaining access to supreme golf courses for less is the headline appeal, given that the host will be required to play with you as their guest, this is another appealing way to meet and connect with other golfers.<\/p>\n \tAlex explains: “The rate in this index is not one you can go and book. It only exists when a member signs you in, and that is the whole point of it. And when they do, you are not just getting the price. You are getting somebody who knows where not to go on the third, who tells you the greens run away from the hill, and who introduces you in the clubhouse afterwards.
