A major high street bank has made a major announcement regarding the future of its physical branches amid ongoing feaes over closures.<\/p>\n

Barclays is pressing ahead with a significant investment in its physical banking presence across the UK, with new branches set to welcome customers in Poole and Bishops Stortford this month.<\/p>\n

A further opening in Beverley is scheduled for November. The expansion forms part of efforts by the bank to modernise and reshape its branch network.<\/p>\n

Although digital banking continues to grow in popularity for routine transactions, Barclays maintains that face-to-face expert guidance remains essential for major financial decisions.<\/p>\n

According to the bank, investment has been shaped by customer demand and identified growth opportunities in these communities.<\/p>\n

These redesigned locations in Poole, Bishop’s Stortford and Beverley have been tailored to reflect how customers’ banking habits are shifting.<\/p>\n

Self-service technology handles everyday transactions, whilst dedicated consultation rooms and private meeting spaces cater to those navigating more complex financial matters.<\/p>\n

The branches are specifically built around moments that matter most, whether customers need specialist support for key life events or require in-depth advice on significant banking decisions.<\/p>\n

Beyond the new openings, Barclays has also bolstered accessibility across its entire existing network by extending branch opening hours, adding more than 60,000 hours of in-person availability each year.<\/p>\n

The bank’s broader modernisation programme encompasses the continued rollout of Premier Suites alongside the introduction of smart ATMs.<\/p>\n

Vim Maru, the chief executive of Barclays UK, said: “The opening of our new branches in Poole, Bishops Stortford, and Beverley is another demonstration of our commitment to investing in communities across the UK and ensuring customers can reach our people when it matters most.” <\/p>\n

He added: “Our ambition is to give customers the best of both worlds: leading digital services for day-to-day banking and the expertise of our colleagues for more complex needs.<\/p>\n
