Alexander Zverev has revealed to rival Carlos \u2060Alcaraz what was going through his head as he served for the \u200cUS Open title in New York earlier this \u200cmonth \u2014 absolutely nothing.<\/p>\n
Zverev<\/a> secured his first \u200ctitle at Flushing Meadows with a four-set \u200cvictory over Ben Shelton<\/a> but returned to \u200cthe baseline as if to prepare for another game after his American opponent hit \u200clong on championship point.<\/p>\n “I thought \u2060it was 4-1,” \u200cZverev said after Alcaraz<\/a> quizzed him about the \u200bmoment as the Team Europe teammates prepared for the Laver Cup \u200bon Tuesday.<\/p>\n “If it were 5-2, I’d have been so nervous, for sure.<\/p>\n “There was \u2060completely nothing \u200bin my head. This is what helps, you know?
