Ozzfest<\/a> has confirmed that it will return to the US in 2027, alongside its previously announced comeback at Birmingham\u2019s Villa Park.<\/p>\n

The legendary metal festival, founded by Ozzy Osbourne<\/a> and his wife and manager Sharon, is being revived next year for the first time since 2018.<\/p>\n

In a new post shared on the festival\u2019s official Instagram account on Monday (September 21), organisers posted an image of the late Black Sabbath<\/a> frontman alongside the UK and US flags.<\/p>\n

\u201cOzzfest will come to the UK and US,\u201d the image reads, while the caption adds: \u201cMore info coming soon. Where are you hoping Ozzfest 2027 will pop up?\u201d<\/p>\n

No venue, date or line-up has yet been announced for the US edition.<\/p>\n

The news follows confirmation last month that the UK return will take place at Villa Park in Birmingham<\/a>, the same stadium that hosted Ozzy and Black Sabbath\u2019s final-ever performances at the \u2018Back To The Beginning\u2019 show<\/a> in July 2025.<\/p>\n

Ozzy died aged 76 just weeks after the concert<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sharon first confirmed earlier this year that Ozzfest would \u201cabsolutely\u201d return<\/a>, saying that her late husband had given the idea his blessing.<\/p>\n

She later revealed that the festival would return to Birmingham before heading to America<\/a>, telling son Jack: \u201cWe\u2019ve got to find a lot of young, new talent, because that\u2019s what your dad would want.\u201d<\/p>\n

More recently, Sharon said organisers were already speaking to potential artists<\/a>, but stopped short of revealing any names.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course we\u2019re speaking to people,\u201d she said. \u201cI can\u2019t let that out yet, but it\u2019ll be soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jack has also said the revived event will continue Ozzfest\u2019s tradition of showcasing emerging artists, with plans for at least one unsigned act to appear on the bill.<\/p>\n

Ozzfest was first held in 1996 and became one of the defining touring metal festivals of the late \u201990s and 2000s, giving major early exposure to bands including Slipknot<\/a>, System Of A Down<\/a> and Disturbed<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Its final edition to date took place at The Forum in Inglewood, California on New Year\u2019s Eve 2018, with a bill featuring Rob Zombie<\/a>, Marilyn Manson<\/a>, DevilDriver<\/a> and Ozzy himself.<\/p>\n

Sharon previously explained that the original event came to an end because rising demands from managers and agents eventually made it financially unsustainable.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe made a profit. But it was not like \u2013 we couldn\u2019t retire on it,\u201d she said in 2023<\/a>. \u201cManagers and agents wanted more and more and more, and it just wasn\u2019t cost-effective anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n
