\n The Care Quality Commission (CQC) praised Vecta House in Newport for treating people with kindness, dignity and respect, with personalised provision to reflect individual needs, preferences and life experiences.\n<\/p>\n
\n The care home provides accommodation, personal and nursing care for up to 54 older people, including those living with dementia, mental health needs and physical health conditions.\n<\/p>\n
\n A September 3 assessment report rated the service good overall and for the CQC\u2019s safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led categories.\n<\/p>\n
\n Faye Parker, general manager at Vecta House, said the rating is a direct result of the dedication, hard work, and compassion the care home\u2019s staff show every single day.\n<\/p>\n
\n The CQC report said: \u201cThe provider had systems in place to help keep people safe and protect them from avoidable harm. Staff understood people\u2019s needs well and worked with healthcare professionals and families to support people\u2019s health, wellbeing and independence.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cStaff spoke positively about the culture within the home and described managers as approachable and supportive.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n Inspectors said some areas were identified where further improvements could be made, including aspects of the environment, documentation and oversight processes.\n<\/p>\n
\n But the report said these were recognised by the management team and did not significantly impact the overall care experience.\n<\/p>\n
