Anthony Joshua this week shared on social media an email that appeared to come from the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association, specifically President Margaret Goodman, asking for Tyson Fury\u2019s whereabouts so he can be enrolled into drug testing ahead of the proposed showdown between the two heavyweights.<\/p>\n
The screenshot of the email, which was on Joshua\u2019s snapchat, is accompanied by the caption: \u201cI\u2019m not accusing TF of anything.\u201d<\/p>\n
The email in part reads: \u201cIs Mr. Fury going to enroll? Typically, we enroll opponents at the same time.<\/p>\n
“We also need the whereabouts form to enroll either fighter.”<\/p>\n
The date the email was sent is unknown but it\u2019s sharing comes after Joshua\u2019s promoter Eddie Hearn told assembled media on Saturday that, according to Joshua\u2019s contract, Fury should already have enrolled<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t actually necessarily blame Tyson Fury for that,\u201d Hearn clarified.<\/p>\n “As we\u2019ve found out on many occasions, what\u2019s in AJ\u2019s contract is not necessarily in Tyson Fury\u2019s contract.<\/p>\n “Testing was supposed to start when the original contracts were signed, and it didn\u2019t for them.<\/p>\n “And I don\u2019t think [Fury] had in his contract that it had to start then.\u201d<\/p>\n A source close to the matter told BoxingScene on Sunday that Fury will enroll once the contest is formally announced. <\/p>\n This is the latest inconsistency in the contracts to be revealed. Those inconsistencies, which also included the date and location of the fight, are the main reason why the contest \u2013 seemingly all agreed in April \u2013 is yet to be formally announced.
