We have some great news for Crew Girl fans, as the show has been given an exciting update on its future. The Canadian teen drama debuted on Netflix<\/a> earlier this month, and has proved very popular.<\/p>\n

The eight-part show currently sits in the #6 position in the streamer’s UK Top 10 chart, and in the wake of its success, the company has confirmed that it will be back for a second season.<\/p>\n

“I am beyond excited for Crew Girl Season 2!” said lead star Miku Martineau (via Tudum<\/a>). “There’s so much left to explore with the characters, the romances, and the rowing team \u2014 it’s going to be a ride for sure!”<\/p>\n

“All I know is that it will definitely be a packed, juicy, drama-filled second season, so I’m ready to get back in a boat and on camera! #Teamteagan,” added the star, who also featured in The Miniature Wife.<\/p>\n

Crew Girl follows Martineau’s character Teagan Tao, a teenager who relocates to the US East Coast with her mother in the wake of a family scandal. A rowing star, she discovers that her new school has no team, and subsequently joins the boys’ crew as a coxswain.<\/p>\n

There, she sparks “rivalry and attraction” among the team, including being torn between the affection of both Josh Regis (Samuel Braun) and Cam Dillinger (Kyle Clark).<\/p>\n

Teasing where the new episodes could go, Braun proposed: “I think we should go on summer break or something, get lost in the woods. It’d be really fun to do a summer bash and be on the lake boat and see what their life is [like] outside of rowing too.”<\/p>\n

Clark, meanwhile, suggested a new sport altogether for his character, adding: “We really want to step it up. I would love to try single sculling.”<\/p>\n

Martineau also teased Teagan getting to row again, especially with a girls’ team possibly on the way, saying: “It’s going to be interesting to watch. She has such an attachment to the boys’ team, but she’s also in pursuit of her own rowing career.”<\/p>\n
