\n\tTom Holland has found his dance partners. Margaret Qualley<\/a> and Sabrina Carpenter<\/a> are joining the star in his Fred Astaire<\/a> movie from Sony<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tQualley will play Adele Astaire, Fred\u2019s older sister and Broadway partner. Carpenter will play Ginger Rogers, Fred Astaire\u2019s frequent film co-star.<\/p>\n

\n\tPaddington filmmaker Paul King is directing the project<\/a>, which comes after Holland\u2019s big summer<\/a> as the star of Spider-Man: Brand New Day and The Odyssey.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI am thrilled and honored to have been entrusted with telling the story of Fred Astaire and his original dance partner \u2014 his big sister Adele \u2014 to the big screen,\u201d said King in a statement. \u201cFred left a timeless legacy of dance on film \u2014 most famously in his collaborations with Ginger Rogers \u2014 while Adele\u2019s work has been lost to history; indeed, no footage of her dancing survives. The cinematic challenge of bringing to life these icons of the twentieth century is one that I could not imagine without Tom Holland, Margaret Qualley and Sabrina Carpenter by my side.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAmy Pascal and Rachel O\u2019Connor produce for Pascal Pictures along with Ben Holden and Josh Hyams for Lightbulb Pictures and Holland for Billy17. Steven Levenson and King penned the script based on the book The Astaires: Fred & Adele by Kathleen Riley.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film has support from some Astaire family members, including Fred\u2019s daughter, Ava Astaire McKenzie, who said in a statement, \u201cWith Kathleen Riley\u2019s seminal biography as its foundation, and the creative team in place, the story of their partnership both on and off the stage is in the best care.\u201d Her son, Tyler McKenzie, is consulting on the movie, and said, \u201cI know their legacy will be beautifully brought to life for a whole new generation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tQualley earned a Golden Globe and Critics Choice nomination for The Substance, and an Emmy nomination for FX\u2019s Fosse\/Verdon, as well as Emmy, Golden Globe, Actor and Critics Choice nominations for her Netflix limited series The Maid. She is repped by CAA, Anonymous Content and Sloane and Offer.<\/p>\n

\n\tCarpenter is one of the biggest names in music, with two Grammys and millions of records sold. On the acting side, she has appeared in Work It and The Hate U Give.
