L. Travers-penned \u201cMary Poppins\u201d books \u2013 opening up the larger world Travers created.<\/p>\n<p>That version is more \u201cmysterious, mercurial and dangerous\u201d than the film one, the character going on adventures that are often surreal and sometimes terrifying.<\/p>\n<p>The series is being developed and produced by Tom Winchester (\u201cSh\u014dgun\u201d) on behalf of the trustees of the P.L.
