Owners of a historic garden are hoping to expand its tennis court to include padel.<\/p>\n
Stow Hall Park on Hall Drive in Stow Bardolph has applied for permission from West Norfolk Council for three new padel courts on its site.<\/p>\n
The business currently has a single tennis court, which is said to have brought more users into the park. It now wants to widen its offerings and further increase the number of customers who visit.<\/p>\n

The plans involve extending the current court by four metres and replacing the surface with green padel turf.<\/p>\n
Two crab apple trees will need to be removed. However, to offset this, the owners will either relocate them or plant three new ones elsewhere on the site and plant hedgerows to make up for the loss of grass.<\/p>\n
A planning statement said: \u201cThe development will improve existing leisure facilities and provide opportunities to increase the number of users of the wider park and settlement services to increase the social vibrancy of the borough, combined with biodiversity enhancement measures to offset the impact and achieve a net gain.<\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore, the development is considered to provide a positive benefit and accords with the development plan.<\/p>\n
The application is currently out for consultation until Friday, October 16.<\/p>\n
